Pastor Patrick Garlock (Executive Pastor) 

Pastor Patrick and his wife, Chellie, have a blended family including 3 children, Zakk, Jessica, and Alex. The first grandchild is on the way! Patrick received a call to the ministry three years ago. He began taking online courses from Christian Leaders Institute (CLI) while working full time at Coca Cola to complete his education with a Christian Leaders Diploma and Diploma of Ministry. Patrick was ordained by HHCC in November, 2016. Patrick began working for HHCC in 2017 as an Associate Pastor and became Executive Pastor of HHCC in January 2018. In addition to studying God's word, Patrick enjoys being known as "Coach" to a team of twelve year old baseball players, a Tribe leader, and playing base guitar with the Praise Team.

Pastor David Myers (Calling Pastor)  

Pastor David and his wife, Joanne, have 3 adult children and 8 grandchildren. They live near Lake Shawnee. David completed 31 years as Senior Pastor of HHCC. In January, he was able to take retirement and cut his work week in half. David now serves as Calling Pastor to HHCC. He is gifted as a Pastor to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. David provides words of comfort to families during funeral services each week. He also keeps track of our shut ins and those in the hospital or care facilities. David is a blessing to the Praise Team with his beautiful voice and musical skills. David continues to teach at HHCC Men's Bible study and fills the pulpit for Pastor Patrick on occasion.

 

Nancy Christian, Administrative Assistant

Nancy has served as the Administrative Assistant for HHCCfor 18 years. A Jill of all trades and master of none describes Nancy. She is supervisor of the office, church buyer, bookkeeper, and worship coordinator. Nancy works closely with the pastoral staff on worship experiences for Sunday and special services during the year. Nancy and husband, Don, live 5 minutes from the church on a family farm. They have 2 adult children with spouses and four grandkids. Nancy works part time so that she can enjoy the grandchildren and family activities.

 

Beverly Renner, Secretary

(Affectionately known as Bev) She is the strong glue that holds the office together! Bev, is single, retired from South Western Bell but not from God's service! She serves HHCC as Secretary/Receptionist. Besides greeting everyone, Bev, answers the phone, prepares the slides for Sunday worship, and prints the bulletin and newsletter, all the while keeping the Pastors on track. She lives in Berryton with her son-in-law and grandson.

 

Jacque Gilbert, Children's Director

A veteran teacher of 42 years, Jacque is the HHCC Children's Ministry Director. She coordinates and supervises all the classes, programs, and events for children. Jacque is single with an adult daughter and two grandchildren. Keeping up with the music and sports events of the grands is a challenge and blessing at the same time. A true Kentuckian, her southern accent remains, even after many years in the Kansas flat lands. Jacque teaches fifth graders in the Auburn-Washburn school district.

Elders


Don Christian (Lead Elder)

Don Christian and his wife, Nancy, live in Tecumseh. They are parents to Andrew and Amy who are grown and are parents to Don and Nancy's four grandchildren. Don has been employed by Astra Zeneca Pharmaceutical Co. for 8 years but has been in the industry for nearly 30. Don enjoys gardening, tinkering on their "farm" and studying God's word. One of his spiritual gifts is teaching and he teaches "The Pathfinders" class at 8:30AM Sunday mornings and leads a Life Together Small Group on Wednesday evenings during the school year.

 

Curtis Current (Elder)

Curtis Current and his wife, Terri, live in Auburn. They are parents to Erin, Ryan, Caleb, and Colby. Erin and Ryan and their spouses are parents to the 3 grandchildren. Caleb is recently married and is continuing his education in Dallas. Colby is a recent graduate of Heritage Christian School and will attend college in Dallas as well. Curtis & Terri are looking forward to the empty nest this fall. Both Curt and Terri teach at Heritage Christian School. Prior to teaching, Curtis had background in TV production, sales and retail management. One of Curtis' spiritual gifts is teaching. He teaches the Jr/Sr high class at 8:30AM on Sunday mornings. Curtis is also very in tune with the Christian music world and a resource to the Worship Purpose Team.

 

Guy Gardner (Elder)

Guy Gardner and his wife, Jackie, live in the Berryton area. They have two adult children, Anthony and Emily. Emily plays violin with the praise team when home from college. Guy has been employed at the City of Topeka for over 20 years. He is a "get 'er done" kind of guy. Guy oversees the HHCC Missions Team and is on the Board of one of our missionaries, "Good News To Mexico", He is also one of the new Jr High Class teachers.

 

John Reynolds (Elder)

John and Kathy Reynolds live just down the street on Tecumseh Road. They have 3 adult daughters and hold the record for grandchildren among the Elders with 14. John is recently retired as accountant for Briggs Automotive Co. John is a numbers guy and is the HHCC Treasurer. John also sings in a Barbershop Quartet. He and Kathy sing great duets and sometimes help fill in as Worship Leaders for first service. John oversees the Administration Purpose Team that includes: property, finances, and much more.

 

Ron Stich (Elder)

Ron and Gail Stich recently moved from the Highland Park area to near 32nd & Skylark. This has been a blessing because they are constantly running errands for the church and now they are closer! Ron & Gail have a blended family of 5 adult children, 8 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Ron retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., as a chemist, but decided that God was not done with him yet. He has spent several years working in the Topeka School District as a Para just so he can be "Jesus" to the children. Ron is a prayer warrior. Prayer and faith are two of his Spiritual gifts, along with the gift of helps. Ron and Gail work tirelessly with the Fellowship Purpose Team to set up and prepare for Sunday Morning Fellowship time and all the special events the team oversees. He has the distinction of being the eldest Elder.

 

Larry Mostrom (Elder in Training)

Larry is the newest member of the Elder Team. He has lived in Topeka for almost 5 years. Larry is a Crop Claims Field Adjuster. He brings a history of leadership from his experience with churches in Denver, Colorado and Elkhart, KS. He has worked in serving Singles ministry, prayer ministry, small groups, church development and church planting. Larry has a great heart for the lost. He is focused on our Discipleship Training module that we have adopted at HHCC and teaches it during 2nd service on Sundays. Larry embraces the Word and is committed to teaching as well as helping the brothers and sisters seek Christ in their lives.
